While they offer everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to housemade soups, the Westend Food Co-op’s community kitchen also hosts a number of workshops, food demos, and cooking classes that promote healthy eating. | The Westend Food Co-op works towards making sure local and sustainable fresh food is available to the residents of Parkdale, and anyone else that stops, by connecting local farmers with local eaters, and it does a really great job of it.

And if you have some old tools kicking around that you don’t use anymore, you can donate them to this great community cause as well. Need to borrow a skill-saw? A jigsaw? A power drill? A simple screwdriver? While I’m personally not a big fan of the food here, if you’re looking for a place to grab drinks with friends and listen to live music, The Cadillac Lounge is just perfect. With a great beer selection, friendly staff, and an amazing patio for the warmer months, it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular place in the neighbourhood. It’s an established neighbourhood bar, and even though it’s a really big place, it still feels cozy and comfortable. | The Cadillac Lounge is probably my favorite place to have a drink in Parkdale.

But be warned if you plan on going on the weekend: this place isn’t a secret, and it gets fairly busy. If you go, you must order the Huevos Divorciados it’s my favorite thing on the menu, and it never disappoints, but just about everything else is good to eat there as well.

Easy Restaurant has an awesome atmosphere, with really comfy booths, and simply fantastic food, and it’s a great place to bring people that are visiting you from out of town. | Hands down, this is one of my favourite places in Toronto to get breakfast on the weekend.
